Donald Caswell published his first chapbook with Anhinga Press in 1977, while an undergraduate student at Florida State University. In 1983, while serving as director of Anhinga Press, he started the Anhinga Prize for Poetry competition, now one of the nation’s longest-running competitions for book-length poetry manuscripts. His poems have appeared in such venues as Poetry, Poetry Daily, and numerous anthologies, and in 1999 Anhinga published his book, 3-Legged Dog.  He studied English at Florida State University and the University of Florida, and completed the Harvard Trade Union Program at Harvard Law School in 2007. In 2011, he retired as director of communication and education for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and now winters in Fernandina Beach, Florida, and summers in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
