Lola Haskins has published six poetry collections. Her work has appeared in Atlantic Monthly, The Christian Science Monitor, The London Review of
Books, Prairie Schooner, Georgia Review, Southern Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, and The Quarterly, among others. She has received awards from The Poetry Society of America, The New England Review/Breadloaf Quarterly, The Southern Review, The New York Quarterly, and The Abiko Quarterly in Japan. Her collection The Rim Benders was the fourth selection in Anhinga Press's Van K. Brock Florida Poetry Series.
Besides writing poetry, Lola. Haskins enjoys translating it from Spanish, as well as running, canoeing and playing the piano. She has taught Computer Science at the University of Florida since the late 1970s, and lives on a farm outside Gainesville with her husband, Gerald, and assorted dogs, cats, ducks, and peacocks.
