Kelle Groom
Kelle Groom’s previous poetry collections are Underwater City (University of Florida, 2004), and Luckily, a Florida Book Award winner (Anhinga, 2006). Her poems have appeared in AGNI, DoubleTake, Gettysburg Review, The New Yorker, Ploughshares, Poetry, and Witness, among others. Groom's awards include fellowships and scholarships from Atlantic Center for the Arts, Millay Colony for the Arts, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Other honors include grants from the State of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs, Barbara Deming Memorial Fund, United Arts of Central Florida, Volusia County Cultural Council, and New Forms Florida. A three-time Pushcart Prize nominee, her work has also been recognized as notable in The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2007. Her lyrical essays and creative nonfiction have appeared in Agni, Bloomsbury Review, Ploughshares, West Branch, and Witness, among others. She has taught writing at the University of Central Florida and is a contributing editor for The Florida Review. A native of Massachusetts, she lives in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
